58th Annual Penn Valley Rodeo @ Penn Valley Rodeo Grounds
This year, 2015, marks fifty-eight years of rodeo in Penn Valley and the tenth anniversary of PVCRA. The annual Penn Valley Rodeo dates back to 1956, when a handful of local ranchers staged a one-day rodeo behind the old Fire House to help fund Penn Valley’s volunteer firefighters. The rodeo was a success and continued to benefit the Penn Valley Fire Department for the next five decades. By 2004, rodeo attendance had declined and the decision was made to discontinue the Penn Valley Rodeo. At that time, a handful of community activists and rodeo fans formed the non profit Penn Valley Community Rodeo Association to preserve the tradition of rodeo in Penn Valley. PVCRA produced its first rodeo in May 2005. It has since added an AMA sanctioned Mule & Donkey Show, the Doc Halstead $500-Added Open Barrel Race series, and a Summer Fun Gymkhana Buckle series. The PVCRA Board of Directors work tirelessly to produce quality family entertainment in the western tradition with two nights of pro rodeo: Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16, followed by a hometown ranch rodeo on Sunday, May 17, 2015. FACILITIES Penn Valley Rodeo Grounds is located behind the Fire Station on Spenceville Road at Penn Valley Drive in Penn Valley, California. The facilities are available for rent for equestrian events, weddings and parties. Rental may include arena, stage area,  kitchen facilities, and parking. Dry camping is available on approval basis and includes toilets, and water. Electricity may be made available on request. Ambassador Committee Meeting @ Atria Senior Living
Dear Chamber Member, Thank you for your continued support of the Chamber and your Membership. As Chairperson of the Ambassador Committee, I would like to encourage you to consider becoming a member of our dynamic and active committee. If you are a business owner with employees and don’t feel that you personally have the time to become an Ambassador, consider encouraging one of your employees to represent your business with the Ambassador group. Why is this important? The benefits your business receives as a result of having a representative on our committee are endless, but here are just a few of our favorites: Development of leadership skills – Work with a dynamic diverse group to achieve Chamber goals to benefit your and other local businesses. Receive maximum exposure or participatory benefit- At each meeting the chamber CEOs report on what is currently in the planning stages for the chamber. This gives you the early opportunity to strategically position your business. Unique networking opportunities – Ambassadors enter every Mixer and Ribbon Cutting with a “coffee pot” meaning their badge opens the door to speaking with other local business owners and elected officials about your business and discover opportunities to build great partnerships. Increased Internet Presence – Each Ambassador receives a profile with photo on the Chamber website. The profile is yet another place where your business can be showcased for potential customers. Referrals – Ambassadors are on the forefront of other Ambassadors mind when giving business referrals. Increase your sales force by having a presence on our committee. Giving Back – Ambassadors serve the local business community by providing manpower for Table Top Mixers, Business After Hours Mixers and Ribbon Cuttings. It[...]
