The Intergalactic Nemesis – Live-Action Graphic Novel @ The Center for the Arts
The Center for the Arts and The Robot Planet present  The Intergalactic Nemesis – Live-Action Graphic Novel  “Great fun! [A] happily retro multimedia extravaganza!” – The New York Post “Something you must experience if you’re a fan of awesome!” – collider.com ★ ★ ★ ★  “Cunning blend of modern technology with good old-fashioned graft-and-craft.” – The Herald (Scotland) “Totally nuts and a ton of fun! … Do not miss it!” – austinist.com “The show was so polished that it almost seemed as though a) live-action graphic novels were actually a standard style of performance, and b) Neulander and company had perfected it.” – KCMetropolis.org Everything cool these days seems to be coming out of Austin, Texas, and this show is the latest example. Telling an all-ages adventure story set in the 1930s, The Intergalactic Nemesis mashes up comic-book and radio-play formats into a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience, a new art form, the Live-Action Graphic Novel. Three actors voice the dozens of characters, a Foley artist creates all the sound effects, and a pianist plays a cinematic score, while more than 1,250 individual full-color hi-res comic book panels tell a hilarious sci-fi adventure story visually from an enormous movie screen. And it’s all done live in front of your eyes. The Intergalactic Nemesis has been featured on NPR, PBS, Conan O’Brien, the Wall Street Journal, and dozens of other outlets. The New York Post called its limited run on Broadway “Great fun! [A] happily retro multimedia extravaganza”, the Cleveland Examiner describes it as “pure theater magic,” and The Austinist recommends it as “totally nuts and a ton of fun… Do not miss it.” But don’t just leave it to the experts. See it for yourself. If you’ve[...]

Dear Chamber Member, Thank you for your continued support of the Chamber and your Membership. As Chairperson of the Ambassador Committee, I would like to encourage you to consider becoming a member of our dynamic and active committee. If you are a business owner with employees and don’t feel that you personally have the time to become an Ambassador, consider encouraging one of your employees to represent your business with the Ambassador group. Why is this important? The benefits your business receives as a result of having a representative on our committee are endless, but here are just a few of our favorites: Development of leadership skills – Work with a dynamic diverse group to achieve Chamber goals to benefit your and other local businesses. This gives you the early opportunity to strategically position your business. Unique networking opportunities – Ambassadors enter every Mixer and Ribbon Cutting with a “coffee pot” meaning their badge opens the door to speaking with other local business owners and elected officials about your business and discover opportunities to build great partnerships. Increased Internet Presence – Each Ambassador receives a profile with photo on the Chamber website. The profile is yet another place where your business can be showcased for potential customers. Referrals – Ambassadors are on the forefront of other Ambassadors mind when giving business referrals. Increase your sales force by having a presence on our committee.
